I had a really enjoyable round of golf at Bellville. It is definitely not one of the grander courses in the area but it’s an interesting challenge. There are lots of changes in elevation, sloping fairways and trickily positioned greens. Having said that it is not amazingly difficult as there is limited thick rough and just a bunches of trees to contend with.
The course’s condition was quite dry on the fairways but that’s to be expected in the height of summer in South Africa but the greens were good.
I don’t recall there being a driving range but there was a pitching area with a putting green beside the club house. It seemed a very friendly club, one of those nice places to play where all the members know each other.
Food at the halfway house was good and the pace of play was really good, although can caveat that with the fact we teed off at 7am. Great value for money and worth a stop for a cheaper option in Cape Town.
