Similar to Royal Cape and Rondebosch, King David Mowbray is a parkland course and has some seriously stunning mountain backdrops through the course. I would say it was my second favourite of the 3 mentioned largely down to the condition, the fairways were quite dry in places and could’ve been looked after a little better in my opinion.

The course is relatively flat and split along a train track, back 9 starts on the other side and then come back to the clubhouse side for the 18th and the front 9 is predominantly on the clubhouse side.

I would say it’s a course higher handicappers may enjoy without getting beaten up. There are some interesting holes including driveable par 4s which tempt you in. My favourite hole was the lovely par 3, 16th with a beautiful mountain backdrop.

Most holes shape left to right which suits my slicey drive and the halfway house with a huge selection of hot meals. There is a driving range and a big putting green so plenty of space to warm up. I think it is good value for money if you fancy playing a more local course in Cape Town.
